Hi, I'm having trouble connecting to an LTSP server (latest stable version 3.0.x) running on Red Hat 8.0. I'm booting a terminal PC from the Etherboot floppy created from the specified site -- terminal PC has a Trident video chip and RTL8139 NIC. This combination worked fine with LTSP on Red Hat 7.3 but on 8.0 I'm having two problems:
1) On most reboots of the terminal it dies trying to connect to DHCP with the "No root-path" error. I have root-path defined in dhcpd.conf and with enough resets the terminal finally boots. Then... 2) The terminal X session dies several times before eventually (minutes later) presenting the graphical login screen.Scanning the packets on the server with Ethereal I see many XDMCP Requests and Declines flowing between the terminal and server, which seems to coincide with the XDMCP Session Denied message on the terminal.I've searched the mailing lists/archives/google and found other similar cases -- most involved gdm. I did find xdm disabled in gdm.conf and enabled it, and I modified hosts.allow to allow all hosts on the LAN to connect, and I uncommented the "any host can get a login window" in the Xaccess file. Still same problem. Please help, this is a great product and I'm dying not being able to use it on RH8!
