I am trying to figure out why our three or so VMS servers refuse to let any
LTSP testing terminals (Jammin 125's) log in.
The terminals are fully capable of logging in if I set:
XDM_SERVER = (a vax system)
in the "lts.conf", but when these terminals attempt to log in via the XDM
chooser, they get just a grey screen as if VMS isn't responding.
The VMS systems support X on other X terminals, HP Entria 2's, just fine.
The Entria 2's use a proprietary chooser, but it works with Unix Xwindows
just fine, so I can only assume it follows the X protocol (that and they
have no reason to break it).
I am wondering if, say, a login from a chooser is indirect (not the login
to the chooser itself, but the log in to the chosen server). I am not super
familiar with VMS... In fact, I know next to nothing about it, but the X
setup seems to be done just about the same way, just with different filenames.
