Hi all,
I'm using a Microsoft dhcp server to boot my thin clients. A ran into a
problem with the root path being incorrect
(10.50.100.100:/opt/ltsp/i386000), but I solved to by making a symbolic link
to /opt/ltsp/i386000.
I've run into another problem however. The host name is garbled. The
workstation reports it's hostname as 77:73:30:30:31:0, or ws001 in hex with
a null term. Here is the hex dump of that portion of the packet.
Linux Hex Dump
0c 05 77 73 30 30 31
Microsoft Hex Dump
0c 06 77 73 30 30 31 00
I'm sure a similar problem is causing the /opt/ltsp/i386000 quirk.
Unfortunately, it's not practical for my school to use a separate dhcp
server for the clients. So I'm wondering if anyone has any fixes or
work-arounds
I'd be happy to provide you with any more information
Thanks
Paul
P.S. I should probably post this separately but does anyone have a fix for
the lack of fonts when using redhat 8.0 and evolution 1.2?? It only works
when I use xfs... I can't get it to work without... I have the latest
ltsp_x_fonts rpm.
