Sounds like you have the wrong package. In my copy of the README
(ltsp_sound-3.0.1-i386.tgz) there is no mention of this requirement. Try
getting the tarball again.
Can someone point me to it? (or is that file now included in LTSP?)
My server is running RedHat 7.3 is that matters
