Hello All, I hope Everybody is doing fine ...

I just bought 190 Dell GX260N Machines hoping that I could use them all
as LTSP Clients. (Pretty big Mission Critical Implementation)
I have tested Redhat 7.3 with LTSP Packages and the terminal works fine
but ..
These terminals are now supposed to be able to have Bar Code Readers
attached to the serial ports of the machines !!

I thought of getting "Keyboard" inline Guns but the problem is that our
company is required by FAA Law (We re manufacture Airplane Engines
http://www.dallasairmotive.com) to have security measures in place that
disallow a user from doing Keyboard Entry for stuff that should be read
directly from the Bar Code Gun. (The premise is that with Serial
Attached Bar Code Readers the user cannot fool the program thinking the
input is coming from it easily)

If I cannot do this with LTSP I am going to be forced to GO Full Linux
on the Desktop machines on the floor or worse Yet Install M$ on them !!!
How can I accomplish this ? I have been reading about mice and serially
attached "Touch devices" & Printers but there is no mention anywhere of
any other serially attached devices.

I am guessing that I am touching on a whole new subject here but I hope
I am wrong and somebody out there has been able to do this ...
I am guessing this would be along the lines of ltsp_nbd ...
(currently used for Terminal floppy access)

Has Anybody done this ?? If not can anybody point me in the right
direction ?

I would really appreciate any help anybody can give me .

Thanks a Bunch.
