Would anyone like to comment on the number of older systems vs the
number of up-to-date systems being used for LTSP.?
Would anyone be interested in a survey ?...Build a histogram ?.
I'm sure the Jamin 125 (for example) is more than capable of running
local apps. For me, the reliability of newer boards (given that I
wouldn't want to use older monitors anyway), would outweigh the cost
advantage of older units. In a way, running my own company does tip the
balance away from ecology/conservation, towards cost efficiency. This
means that I would be biased towards the parallel vein of net/etherboot,
being simpler for a pleb like me to understand.
Comments welcome, though probably directly to me, rather than clogging
up this discussion group.
Another statistical interest would be a world map, indicating how many
diskless w/s's, where.
