I see nothing wrong with a 386 as a terminal, if you could make a 8086 than better still but it doesn't work with any kernel that I know, you use LINKS for web browser and the many many other packages of linux that don't need a GUI, and if you work at the speed of the server than it has to fly!, theres great value on the vi editor and the like although there are others, what's wrong with character computing?, it's cheap nice done in linux, I am a great fun of links it is a lot faster than any thing else to surf the net, I dunno but it works fine for me.
