Is it possible that you are hitting the max files limit. This exactly the
types of things
that can start happening when you start hitting the limit.

Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] Clients Unable to Login - KDE doesn't start

Greetings. Firstly my apologies if this topic has received lots/any
discussion
already -- I was unable to search through the archives for some
reason...

I'm running LTSP 3 on a Mandrake 8.2 server with 14 terminals.
Occasionally,
users who have logged in before cannot login again at the same terminal
(users typically only use their own terminal). Their display stops at
either
a blue screen or at the KDE 3 "Initializing system services" stage.
Deleting
the two .DCOPserver* files in their home directory fixes the problem and
then
things work fine again for a while.

This problem seems to be isolated to older terminals (P-90 or less) with
32 Mb
of RAM or less. I am using a P-233 terminal with 64 Mb RAM on the system
and
have no problems. I have not determined what causes this -- perhaps an
incorrect logout due to a crash? Bad RAM?

Anybody have any ideas on how to correct this? Thanks in advance.
