Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to the linux world, and are trying to create a network for several users. I have decided to use several older computer (about 20 or so) and place them on a LTSP network (Good idea? :P ).
I need to be able to restrict these users (who are part of a Win2K network already). We are able to port the usernames/passwords from Win2K, but need help setting up the profile (I'm not sure if linux calles it a profile or not).
I know all the settings are stored in the users Home Directory. I want the users to have access to their shared space on the 2K network (Using Samba - got that to work), so every user can be pointed to the same Home directory - and i can make that Read-Only, right?
Anyway, are there any walk-thoughs that will help me setup the restrictions for the user? (ie. only allow access to certain programs, change the "K" menu (BTW, the OS is Mandrake 9).
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could give me,
Thanks,
Gary
