I have done that, but still have the problem. I'm using rh8.0. The
client gets up X for a second (gray background, and the mousepointer
as an large X). Then after som up and down like this i get this
message:
"XDMCP fatal error: Manager unwilling Host unwilling". Over
this message i get this:
"Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,
removing from list!" (but i guess this one isn't that harmful.

Config:
Server ip: 129.240.218.12, name gingivitt
Client ip: 129.240.218.9, name ws001

gingivitt# netstat -anp | grep ":177 "
udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:177 0.0.0.0:*

/etc/hosts:
129.240.218.9 ws001
127.0.0.1 gingivitt.uio.no terminator
localhost.localdomain localhost
129.240.218.12 gingivitt terminator

/etc/hosts.allow:
bootpd: 0.0.0.0
in.tftpd: 129.240.218.
portmap: 129.240.218.

/etc/hosts.deny is emty.

 /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess:
* #any host can get a login window
* CHOOSER BROADCAST #any indirect host can get a chooser
