Dieter: I'm using a Viewsonic 15" TFT display with LTSP on a ThinkNIC (with the improved video driver from LTSP). It's only been in service for three weeks but I've had no problems. I didn't research the use of TFT displays much so I can't approach your question from a position of technical knowledge - I just decided to try it and have had no problems so far.
