Use Intel, AMD is quite sloppy when it comes to intensive I/O from what
I've seen and heard, use plenty of RAM (is cheap) and a decent HDD,
ata133 or some heavy expensive scsi stuff, more, choose carefully your
filesystems, you'll find out that good tuning may double your system's
speed .
