I am currently using squirrel-mail that I am not happy with any suggestion?

KDE is fine but need to much memory.

YMMV but we have installed Mozilla-1.2.1 on our server and fluxbox. Mozilla is a bit bloated, but it is a very functional browser and mail client. The mail client supports the Enigmail GPG plugin for email encryption. If you can stand a small amount of overhead, the browser actually loads faster on our systems that Konqueror, for example. We use powerful workstations (PIII 700 MHz - don't ask) so in Local App support, we actually take the load off the server.

Fluxbox is a very lightweight window-manager based on blackbox. Its small size and functional menuing makes it perfect for LTSP, IMHO. It also makes it very easy to control what applications can be ran from the remote stations; we just remove any terminal/shell access from the users and give them a preset collection of apps/commands in thier menu.

If you're interested in Fluxbox -> http://www.fluxbox.org
They have a source RPM and plain source tarball. No real dependencies.
