Have you attempted to run your dbase application on a mixture of FreeDOS
and DOSEMU?  I was recently able to get an ancient DOS games CD working
beautifully under Linux.  My brother even had fun running a whole bunch
of older games (can you say Castle Wolfenstein?).  :)
