Hi, Somebody on this list had a problem with direqcafe, claiming it did not sync with users. I will attempt to answer that question here.
Firstly: Which Distribution are you using ? The system works on Mandrake/Redhat and I have reports of successes with Debian and Suze as well. There are two things that can cause this problem, number one is if the session management is not being done direqcafe way. This will deffinitely not be a problem on mandrake/redhat. DireqCafe installs a file /etc/X11/Xsession that is responsible for ensuring that icafe users are counted down and logged out. If your system uses a different session management file however, then you will need to find what it is called, back it up, and copy the direqcafe file over it. The seccond is the user setup, as the docs explain, direqcafe works on the assumption that some users should not be time limited, after all you want unlimited time for the administrator, and in many of the locations it is used, for a large number of the normal users. The only users that will be counted down are those that are also in the icafe group. Consult the section of the manual pertaining to the commandline management for the command to add a user to this group on Mandrake, but pretty much every distro should have a graphical tool to add a user to an additional group. Also please run the latest version (1.5) as it fixes bugs in earlier versions, as always the URL is http://akinimod.sf.net/icafe.html Ciao A.J. -- Story of my life: "Semper in excretum, set alta variant" A.J.
