Hello. :-)

Is this a known quirk ?

System - mandrake v9.1 kde w/KDM manager.
ltsp 3.0 rpm's

This is a test unit (an old workstation), a user is autologged in on boot.

Set it all up and it worked fine.

But I found that when I turned it on next and left it with the autologin user
(previously, I logged that user out and logged into my account to setup ltsp)
the terminal came up to a grey screen with an x.

netstat -ap | grep xdmcp showed nothing...but...if I logged that user out,
kdm came up on the terminal. Logging back into the autologin user and doing
the nestat showed xdmcp now active.

Did several tests and it is repeateable.

The problem only happens when the autologin user is used.

Yes, I know autologin is normally turned off when it's deployed as a server,
but it is a quirk that can trip people up (ie. waste time, frustrate people)
when trying/testing/playing with ltsp.

Is this a known problem ?

Is it fixable ?

Any ideas ???

Regards...Martin
