Also, you said you don't think it is a firewall problem, but it is worth turning the redhat firewall completely, just to see if it has any effect on the situation. Just try: service iptables stop And, if you can, go to the #ltsp IRC channel at irc.freenode.net, and I should be able to help you interactively. I'm sure we can get it working. Lots of people are running LTSP with redhat 9.
