One common issue some ppl have with OOorg is that thit does not have a built in database like access. Instead it uses a generic interface to connec to _any_ database back end you want be it SQL, Access, MySQL or even an inhouse db.

OpenOffice does not come with a database, but, if you want to pay a nomial fee to purchase StarOffice (from Sun), there is a database that comes with Star Office.
Open Office is the free version of Star Office (similar to how Wine is the free version of Code Weavers product).
