I didn't, but some hints -
you need a custom kernel, with (besides the usual stuff) usb support
compiled in, as well as usb-storage/modem/serial whatever needed to
access these devices.
The software to access them could be run as local_app on the client
device, so no networking of this usb communication would be necessary.
