I'm struggling with a USB disk-on-key setup. Thanks to bill_c on IRC
I got the right module loaded, and the thing is running well using
the autofs/samba setup from Robbie. Thanks to Gideon and the others
who tried to help out using floppyd, but that's a dead end I think.

There is a catch, though. I get the files on the usb pen read-only,
so I cannot write anything to it.

The device gets mounted on /dev/sda1 or
/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 to which /dev/sda1 is a
symlink.

/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 gets perms 600 (root.root)
/dev/sda1 gets 555 (root.root)

There is very little security around this thing anyway, might as
well have 777 on the pen.

smb.conf lists the share as writeable.
automount is listed with mount as (rw)

It looks to me as if I need to get the device files to have
different permissions than what they get automatically when created.
How do I control these permissions?

I've poked around in the various rc- and config-files, but did not
find anything useful.

Any further clues are welcome.
