Dinesh,
I see 2 problems:
1) Try using the cyrix X server. set XSERVER = cyrix
it should support your mediagx chipset.
2) I suspect that your problems are mostly caused by the
use of GDM. GDM simply has problems that haven't been
fixed yet. XDM and KDM seem to work just fine. I
suggest switching to one of them, at least to see if the
problems go away.
