Not really too difficult. You can get XFree86-4.3 binaries linked against glibc-2.2 (the glibc used in the LTSP client) from XFree86.org[1]. You won't need all of the files listed there; if I recall correctly, you will need to get Xbin, Xetc, Xxserv, and Xmod. Unpack those files somewhere harmless (/tmp/FUBAR, for example). Then replace each file in /opt/ltsp/i386/usr/X11R6 with the corresponding one from /tmp/FUBAR/...
