Getting the sound to work on a particular client is a bit more
interesting. Try the following in your lts.conf:
SOUND = Y
SOUND_DAEMON = esd
VOLUME = 80
SMODULE_01 = auto
If you're lucky, it will work. If you are unlucky, you may have to do
something terrible like this to load all the correct modules:
SOUND = Y
SOUND_DAEMON = esd
SMODULE_01 = soundcore
SMODULE_02 = sound
SMODULE_03 = ad1848
SMODULE_04 = uart401
SMODULE_05 = cs4232 irq=5 io=256 synthirq=6 synthio=260 dma=3
I also recommend you try running xmms as a test application. Under
'Options -> Preferences', select 'eSound Output Plugin'; press
'Configure', and check the 'Use remote host' box; specify the
doamin name of the client as 'Host:'; and 16001 as the 'Port:'
