Hello,
Ken Cobler mentioned about WinConnect Server XP.
I visited the site (www.thinsoftinc.com) and found a linux version
also present. Thanks very much for info.

The version of WinConnect XP for Linux is the RDP client that thinsoftinc sells. WinConnect Server XP is program that must run on top of Windows XP. rdesktop (www.rdesktop.org) is a free, RDP client that can connect to the WinConnect Server XP, Windows Terminal Server Edition 2000 or Windows Advanced Server 2003 -- any RDP server that can talk RDP 4.0.

WinConnect Server XP will support RDP 4.0, 5.0 and 5.1. The RDP version in rdesktop is currently at RDP 4.0. thinsoftinc does not specify in their tech support pages what RDP version their WinConnect XP for Linux uses.

Anybody tried WinConnect Server XP ?

Yes, as a stand alone machine running on top of Windows XP Pro with five LTSP rdesktop clients. But, have not tried running Windows XP Pro as a guest OS on Linux. Also, the rdesktop environment I tried this on was to provide business application support (didn't care whether or not sound and games worked).

I would like to load WinConnect Server XP on WinXPPro as guest
OS on Mandrake 9.1 as host OS. And do rddesktop for multiple
ltsp clients. Would it work ?

Would it work? Probably, but, Windows XP Pro is a CPU and memory hog. So, I recommend keeping Windows XP Pro and WinConnect Server XP on a separate machine. Don't let a malicous Windows virus kill your entire Linux server, because you allowed Windows XP Pro to act a guest OS.
