Hi,
in my lab I've got the login XDM then I enter in window maker.
I would like to see a different login splash screen, in LTSP document example there is a login with written LTSP... it should be nice for the school to but some GNU images on the login... is it possible? Will I need to change the same (XDM) file for a local graphical login?

Just an idea: There are two login managers that can be configured with background images, user logos, .....
You could have a look at kdm or gdm.
For displaying an image behind the xdm login screen, have a look at the command xsetroot.
