I think someone mixes up something here.
Probably your vendor needs the PCI ID (which you can retrieve with the linux utility "lspci", for example).
I think it is 0x1186; 0x1300, but you should coutnercheck that.
You could point him to rom-o-matic.net where he probably can just download a rom image for the dfe-538,
I suggest using version 5.2.2.
