I am running GNOME desktop on the server. I cannot find the menu>preference>system file at all.
Ideally I would like all the LTSP clients to have a blank desktop with only 1 icon for our specific app. I know that I can remove the start menu and all other icons from the panel, but then how do get the users to log out? If I put a shortcut to the log out button in the panel, they still get the "Shut down" "Restart" "Log out" options...I only want them to have the "Log out" option. Any idea's? -----Original Message----- From: Sudev Barar [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 11:21 PM To: Mike O'Toole Subject: RE: RE: [Ltsp-discuss] LTSP errors On Wed, 2003-11-19 at 23:33, Mike O'Toole wrote: > Firstly, is it possible to stop the clients from being able to reboot the > server? Depend on the display manager that you are running. I recommend edit the /etc/sysconfig/desktop to: DESKTOP="KDE" DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE" The set the 'login manager' under menu>preference>system to set do not allow anyone to do remote shutdown or only root. Assuming RedHat & KDE combination. SOmething similar should be avaiable for your distro / desktopmanager. -- Sudev Barar Learning Linux ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
