yes, this helps - a bit. Now I installed withour errors, but still the message on the clients is like "sound is activated in lts.conf, but it doesn't seem to be installed". So the errors were harmless, at least my soundproblem is not related. Btw, after installing the sound-packet the clients were not able to start X, as the program /opt/ltsp/i386/bin/getltscfg was no longer executable (I had to chmod 755). And the syslog showed nothing special - I attached the related lines it at the end of this mail. So I have a very unspecific error - no sound, but no real error-messages. Is there any way to track this down? I can't understand it, as I did this stuff on two different ltsp-hosts before without a single problem. The only difference: This time the server has no sound hardware. Any ideas?
