It looks like you don't have the correct XSERVER defined in lts.conf.
You may have it set to auto. Create a configuration for a specific
workstation like this:

[ws001]    # this is a name of a workstation. you must add the
           # following line to your dhcpd.conf
           #  use-host-decl-names    on;
   XSERVER = ati   # ati is for the ati card. use mga for the matrox
   LOCAL_APPS = N
   USE_NFS_SWAP = N
   SWAPFILE_SIZE = 64m
   RUNLEVEL = 5

That should be all you need.
