For those who may be having trouble printing on DMP printers. Problem : Old .xls / .doc files do not print correctly even after the DMP printer has been set using correct driver and test printing comes out fine.
Possible reason: We found that since the documents were created using fonts in win / msoffice the document would not print. Solution: Either change the font in the document or install the relevant font in path /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/ and also make a link of these in the path /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/share/fonts/truetype for all the fonts. Thereafter the DMP printer was able to print all the documents.
