I just loaded LTSP 4.0 on a Mandrake 9.1 system and am testing it to work with the old IBM eServers we have here. It loads the kernel and everything else just fine, but XFree crashes, telling me "You must specify a keyboard in XF86Config" even though I have.
The eServer has an S3 chip in it, and I put a small Linux install on the hard drive and it boots into X just fine, but it runs SO slowly. I copied that XF86Config file to my server and renamed it XF86Config.ws001 and put an entry in lts.conf under the [ws001] section to point to it, but it still gives me the same message.
I have tried specifying XkbModel, XkbLayout, and XkbSymbol in both the [default] and [ws001] sections of my lts.conf, first without the XF86CONFIG_FILE = XF86Config.ws001 and then with it. I have also tried setting XSERVER = XF86_S3 in both sections, but it still doesn't work. My server has a Geforce 2 MX400 graphics board, so it's running XFree 4.3 while the workstation runs XFree 3.3.6. I plan to upgrade the server to Mandrake 9.2 soon, but I doubt if that will fix anything. Any suggestions, something I have overlooked? Thanks in advance.
