I have had problems with this on my laptop, but not my desktop. My guess is that it's a problem in the kernel's virtual terminal code, but that's just a wild guess. My problems only occur when switching between two X sessions; if I switch to a text vt first, wait a second, then switch to the second X vt, it works fine. This happens on stock machines (no LTSP) running RedHat or SUsE; LTSP 3 shows similar problems that were fixed after RedHat 7.2 (not surprising when you consider that LTSP 3 is based on an earlier version of RedHat). My laptop stays up and will respond to ssh sessions, but the video stays blank. Running chvt from ssh seems to help, sometimes. -- David Johnston <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Little Bald Consulting, LLC ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials.
