I'm installing LTSP-core 3.0.7 (the Debian version) for the first time and running into a strange problem. Everything moves along pretty well when booting the client until I see the following:

------------
...
Mounting the devfs filesystem
Running /sbin/init

Enter runlevel:
------------

No matter what I enter here (I've tried 3 and 5), nothing happens. The screen doesn't freeze really; it just sits there.

I found one other post about this problem on the ltsp-discuss list, but the poster didn't give enough information to have anyone help him. One of the replies to the post mentioned something about an "/opt/ltsp/i386/etc/services" file, which I don't have. Is this a necessary file?

I appreciate any help I can get because there really isn't anything useful about this problem online.

Thanks!

Tom Purl
