Makes no difference to LTSP.

Everything that runs on the thin client is supplied by the ltsp 
packages.

Your server doesn't even have to be x86 compatible.

We've installed LTSP on ibm mainframes, and served up x86 thin clients
with no problem at all.

As for XFree86, it's completely independent from the Xfree86 on the
server.

Totall seperate.  Don't worry about your server architecture at all,
so long as it can serv up DHCP, TFTP, NFS and XDMCP.
