I don't have specific advice on the palm sharing, but if you are deploying LTSP3, I would suggest having a Redhat 7.0 (7.1?) box on the network somewhere for building software for the clients, since that is the build machine used for LTSP3. Check the website for the exact version.
So if you can get pi-nredir built on the build box, you should be able to copy the files and libs into your ltsp tree and not get the glibc_2.3 not found errors. LTSP4 uses GLIBC_2.3 and so you won't have this problem, but if you've got everything else working except this one issue, I would think twice before moving over to v4 just to try to fix this one issue. You'll still have to solve the problem of sharing the serial/USB port, and other issues could arise in the process. If you can't get the port shared, another workaround (that I use for my digicam) is to launch the sync app on the workstation. -Todd On Wed, 2004-01-21 at 11:01, Adrian Kuepker wrote: > Our goal: Getting Palm Pilots to sync on LTSP terminals for our users > > We've been working on setting up LTSP for quite awhile now, and we're > planning on rolling out our terminals to the users in this building and > one of the more important things that has appeared on the 'must have > list' is the ability for users to synchronize their PalmPilots to an > applicable piece of software. > > We have tried pi-nredir and had Shared Library issues and a 'glibc_2.3 > not found' error.
