I have installed K12LTSP onto Celeron 466 with 256MB RAM..... of course with 1 client only.
I have 3 machines for client with different hardware spesifications.
Machine #1 : Pentium 60 with 16MB RAM
Machine #2 : Pentium 100 with 32 MB RAM
Machine #3 : Pentium 133 with 32MB RAM
I connected each machine to the server, so that 1 server 1 client.
When I connected machine #1 to the server, after it received IP from server and execute the kernel at /lts/vmlinuz.ltsp, this machines hang-up when kernel detect machine#1's IDE device.
... ide : assuming 33MHz systems bus speed for PIO mode; overide with idebus=xx
after that, machine #1 did nothing
That problem did not happend when I connected machine #2 to the server or machine # 3 to the server.
For your information, machine #1 do not have IDE interface on board like newer mother board, I used super I/O card that connected to ISA slot but machine #2 and #3 have IDE interface on board.
Although the memory on machine #2 and #3 decrease to 16MB, they can run as LTSP client good enough.
I have tried also to replace the kernel to /lts/kitchen-sink.img (what ever its name.... i forgot it) and machine #1 still hung-up.
The error begin when the client tried to execute :
/sbin/init
Any help ?
