you might want to try setting the refresh rates manually in /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf for the workstation. X_VERTREFRESH = [x-x] and X_HORZRATE = [x-x] are the entries to add, i believe.

Send in your total lts.conf file and XF86Conf file (or XF86Conf-4) from
/etc/X11

Indicating that the resolution / color depth being asked of are beyond capability of monitor / video card. What are the spec for monitor and card?
