We use kde 3.1.5 (soon kde 3.2), mozilla 1.5, openoffice.org 1.1

For 30 concurrent user systems we use p4 2.4's with 2gig's ram, and 2
u160 scsi (1 for system, other for /home) drives. We have tested this
with openoffice.org 1.1 being launched on all 30 terminals (64megs ram
in terms) at the same time, time to launch was under 60 seconds (faster
time when not all launched at same time).

For 30+ we increase ram, switch to xeons, and go dual when hitting over
45. We also start using raided drives to spread io out. Most we have
tested is 75 concurrent users with raid 5 (6 drives), dual xeon, 6g ram.

Going over that we will prolly involve multiple servers either using
chooser, or we will use a load balancer to present only one login screen
and let it handle which server to connect user to. Lots of ways to do
it, just need to find one that is easiest to support, and cost effective
:).
