Normally there is a login "box" (Kdm) with a background pattern. After I log in, there is no login "box" but the background pattern is unchanged. Mouse still moves around, but I never get to my desktop. It appears as if it isn't allowed to read my desktop configuration/settings and gets stuck. Mouse button has no menu available like it might if I was really logged into the kde desktop. As for my x-server issues.
