There is no way round. Interestingly I had a similar problem. However connecting to different port on the switch worked!!?? I found that in most(?) of the switches actual hardware handling is for 8 ports x n. So putting the wire from a client using ISA 10BaseT NIC to any of the first 8 ports worked but did not work from port 9 to 24!!! Andy's solution is better...if possible get newer NIC's but watch out for older clients with ISA bus NIC's -- Sudev Barar
