Hi all !I used UML some time back, and except crashing after 280 days uptime it worked very well... it was an "unstable", so I don't worry.
Do anybody has used User Mode Linux with LTSP ?
For example it can be good way to use a solid woody for tftp, nfs ,...
and using a Gnome2.4 or KDE3.2 distribution for the rest.
Anyone as tryed that ?
I'd assume you cannot use it for dhcpd, as that requires access to the ethernet medium which the UML usually won't have.
The main machine always is "router" between ethernet and UML, so there's not much reason for putting the tftp inside UML; I'd rather run a second (independent) Linux box for NFS, tftp, dhcpd - even a 486 should be enough for some dozen users. It could at the same time do (basic) firewalling.
