Hi;

Background: I'm running flash presentations as a local
app on LTSP-4 terminals and have problems with sound.

The only thing I've found to work is to NOT run the
"esd" daemon on the terminal and let the flash player
send sound to /dev/sound/dsp directly. I would rather
run "esd" so it could receive sound from the processes
on the server as well.

By default, LTSP-4 starts the esd server on the terminal
as root:

  $ ps -ef | grep esd
  207  root  1636  S  /bin/esd -nobeeps -tcp -port 16001

Sound works fine from processes on the server, but not
from local apps connecting to localhost:16001.

How can I run the "esd" daemon so it accepts sound from
both local apps and apps on the server?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tom
