I have been trying to get a local apps working. I am using a debian clone (Morphix), when the client is booting it says its starting xinetd etc. I have two computers the server (neil) and the client (sharon). If I typed on 'sharon'. $> ssh neil I would be asked for a password and everthing worked, if I typed in $> ssh sharon I would get a message 'refused connection to port 22'
In the 'rsh' file on the server setup for xinetd it said the service was 'shell' as this wasn't meantioned in the 'etc/services' file I changed this to 'ssh' as an experiment, now if I type. $> ssh sharon I get the message 'closed by remote server' Can anyone help? Am I testing this right? Do I need to setup any ssh keys etc. for the client to use? P.S. The 'ypcat passwd' returnes the correct stuff on both compters. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
