The easy way is to start by creating an icon on your own desktop, let's say it's called program.desktop copy that into a temporary location, say /tmp and then run something like this as root:
#These two lines make sure it's auto added for new users mkdir /etc/skel/Desktop cp /tmp/program.desktop /etc/skel/Desktop #This adds it for all existing users cd /home for I in *; do cp /tmp/program.desktop $I/Desktop/; chown $I $I/Desktop/program.desktop; done Ciao A.J.
