Hi,

I have set up LTSP 4.0 on a Red Hat 9 PC. With my clients connecting
successfully. With a little head banging have managed to get the X server also
working it took some time to figure out where to put the XF86Config file at
first. Also sound is working on the clients. And even managed to get scroll
mouse working in the PC's.

Now to my question :-

How do I access local cdrom and floppy disks while in GNOME(GUI) connected to
the clients ?

I tried searching the ltsp mailing list archives. Found this message

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=ltsp-discuss&m=107393694431280&w=2

Practically started jumping and salivating on seeing a pretty recent 12 Jan
2004 step by step how to on configuring local cd/floppy access.

But then again got stuck on the following issues :-

1. First off I think this is a how-to for accessing cdrom and floppy while in
"shell" and not "startx". I can already access floppy and cdrom in shell mode.
Had already figured out that I need to make the devices and mount manually
after specifying fs type.

Somebody please correct me here if I am wrong.

2. Saw quite a few references for people telling to use nbd. But that is not
what I am looking for. I do not want to access the server cdrom I want to
access the cdrom's attached to the local client pc's.

Am I correct on this ?

3. Finally where I can I find the detailed manual like the LTSP ver 3 one for
LTSP ver 4.0 ? Or is it still work in progress ? Need to find out the
procedure for configuring xfs and syslogd still pending.

Thanks,
