They're all good.

LTSP should run equally well on any distro, but if you are looking for 
support from people on the mailing list, I'd say that more of the users 
on this list are using redhat or redhat-derived systems, so if you are 
looking for help, redhat would be a reasonable choice.  Mandrake works 
quite well, as does Suse.  Debian is gaining in popularity around 
here, and as I am moving alot of my machines to debian, I think you can 
expect support for debian to get better.

gentoo is also becoming popular, but I don't use it, so when technical 
questions come up, often times I can't offer any help.  BUT, others on 
the list are usually pretty quick to help with gentoo.

There's lots of other distros too.  I'd say pick one that you are 
comfortable with, and if you need help, there should be someone around 
here who can help out.
