Hi all, please help:
LTSP 4.0 runs on SUSE 9.0 server, stations running XF86-4.x ran grapics
& KDE OK, BUT:
-But the other clients (Pentiums 200) with S3 and S3V cards (some PCI
cards, some integrated) cannot run into graphics or login screen. The
ones (PCI S3V, serial mouse, DIN KB) freezes on graphical screen with
login background (no login window), clock displayed on middle of screen,
the other (S3Trio64 integrated, PS2 mouse&KB) stops on the text screen
and line Fatal error: "Screens not found" "Press Enter..". Forecoming
text lines detected VGA card OK as S3 and lists a graphical modes and
resolutions, then stops. Even I tried insert manually various XF86-3.x
servers in lts.conf file, all XF86-3.x modules installed. ... Still no
graphics or login screen... I added missing file for creating XF86-3.x
config file as described in Errata. Lines for Xserver in lts.conf added
to point to S3 modules etc..But still no result for S3... With LTSP 3.x
on SUSE8.1 these cards worked...
When I start to text mode, I can login, but (perhaps) no shell
available, cant run mc, only write characters on line. No commands
works: dir, list etc...

PS: There are some false (RED displayed in MC) symbolic links in
/opt/lstp/i386 directory, eg. ~var points to nonexisting /tmp/var .
There are about 5 in subdirs /opt/ltsp/i386/etc and others. Why there
are false symbolic links after installation? Isnt it the source of
problem ? I installed from burned *.iso CD or online, is the same.
Installer updated to last version 0.5.

Any suggestions? ...

Miroslav
