Hello,
I just noticed that some X 3.4 failures in detecting the right graphics
driver are due to a pretty outdated ${LTSP_ROOT}/i386/etc/vidlist.
It dates 09 December 2001.
Here goes a patch to detect "S3 ProSavage8 KM266/KL266":
