As several people to whom I talked in irc asked, I just send this to the list.
I visited LinuxTag in Karlsruhe/Germany yesterday and did some terminal stuff
at the X.org booth. Doing that, I talked to some interesting people around
the show.
Leon Shiman of X.org really liked the LTSP we had setup at his booth (thanks
to HP for leaving a t5000, and those six 19" TFTs, and even more hardware),
and which worked, except a small bug, with the Media Application Server, MAS,
from x.org (the upcoming replacement of esd, artsd... the plan says) very
fine. He offered to have some LTSP presentation on X.org booth in
LinuxWorldGermany in Frankfurt this October, in case we don't run a booth on
our own. There will be plenty of time to discuss that.... I hope jammcq will
be there anyway, so why not.
It's really a pity I could only be there for one day, so I missed the
interesting programme today to Saturday, including several SkoleLinux related
presentations. I hope those LTSPers there will have lots of fun.
One more thing is that the HP people around seemed impressed how smooth their
t5000 runs. Probably even more if we had the kernel with LPP installed (but
no time and lots to debug with MAS) :-) Very nice to see that the big players
are with us.
