Jim and Scott,

I set up local floppy drives today in my computer lab, but not without problems. We're using USB floppy drives on Jammin-125s. I followed the directions on the website, but a few things need to be fixed:

* Setting 'RCFILE_01 = localdevice' proved unnecessary, as rc.localdev always runs.
* The correct device for the USB floppy drive is /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1.
* I had to hack rc.localdev, because it assumes that sd* devices are only cd-rom drives.

Besides those few bumps in the road, the local floppies are working well. I was even able to set up the floppy drives in Crossover, so that files can be accessed from Microsoft applications. The only 'problem' is some long delays, but it's mostly tolerable.

Thanks for all your hard work and I hope the above notes help to improve LTSP.
